Pakistan was playing over-smart where it was extolling (as breaking the chains of slavery by Afghans) the return of Taliban in power in Afghanistan but was not recognizing the Taliban by giving an excuse that it will do so when first some other important countries recognize it. Hence Taliban paid Pakistan back in kind by nudging the ‘Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’ (TTP) which on Thursday declined to extend the month long ceasefire by accusing the government of Pakistan of failing to honor the agreement which was achieved with the protection and support of the ruling Taliban and in this agreement the TTP kept conditions which among other things include enforcement of Shariah regime in Pakistan as reported at https://www.dawn.com/news/
(1)- In this 21st century two developments have immensely impacted the Muslim world (i)- The US-led armed attack on Afghanistan & Iran post 9/11 (ii)- So-called ‘Arabs spring’ in NAME region. Both these developments have brought immense suffering to Muslim world. But the way the USA after 20 years of stay, militarily left Afghanistan it has sent a message (rightly or wrongly) to Muslim Ummah that militant Jihad will ultimately be victorious
(2)- The world community has grossly underestimated Islam especially the capacity of Muslims to suffer (offering ‘Qurbani’ the martyrdom) immensely for Islam mostly irrationally and unnecessarily because Islam is not getting updated due to lack of creativity on the part of religious leaders of Islam.
(3)- Taliban now will not go for minor objective of recognition of Afghanistan government by world community or even by Pakistan because Taliban is already under pressure from global militant Jihadis like ISIS – KP, Al Qaeda etc to do some thing for entire Muslim Ummah. Hence now Taliban will not miss the opportunity to realize Sharia regime in AF-Pak
(4)- Taliban has two strong motives for Sharia AF-Pak. (i)-It will bring nukes of Pakistan under militant Jihadis of AF-Pak which will be supported by the remaining Muslim world too because Ummah believes that once nuke are with militant Jihadis then justice can be delivered to Palestinians who are suffering at the hands of Jews supported by the Christian West and (ii)- Afghanistan will get access to sea through major ports of Karachi and Gwadar which will be extremely beneficial to the economy of Afghanistan.
(5)- Whatever has happened in Pakistan since Taliban came to power in Afghanistan on August 15, 2021, where ‘Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’ (TLP) has shown its widespread support base in Pakistan, especially in its two most important provinces of Punjab and Sindh (where TLP has also the member of Legislative Assembly) it will be very easy for Taliban to achieve Sharia regime in Pakistan with the help of TLP (of ‘Barelvi’ thought, having majority following of Muslims in Pakistan). The ‘People’s Democratic Movement’ (PDM) – having PML- N led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, JUI-F led by Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman etc – is already on the road (on & off) for the last more than two years and is demanding fresh elections in Pakistan because elections of 2018 which brought PM Imran to power were (as per PDM) rigged and were manipulated by Pak Army
(6)- During fresh elections the Islamist parties (TLP, Parties supported by TTP, JUI-F etc) are bound to come to power at centre if they fight elections on the issue of bringing Sharia regime in Pakistan. This will bring nukes of Pakistan under control of militant Jihadis and then Sharia AF-PAK (with the support of some global militant Jihadis) will certainly threaten to take from India the Muslim Kashmir where in popular perception among Muslim Ummah across the world, the Kashmiri Muslims have been suffering for decades at the hands of Hindus especially the armed forces of India. This Kashmir issue can be used by Jihadi AF-Pak (with nukes), also for the purpose of blackmailing the world community.
(7)- The developments since 2019 have fundamentally changed the ground situation in J&K against India. On August 5, 2019 India abolished Article 35-A and amended Article 370 of the Constitution and reduced & bifurcated the J&K State into two Union Territories. These have alienated larger sections of Kashmiris. The Chinese hostilities against India have increased especially after QUAD which has resulted in Chinese aggression in Ladakh too, where China has not vacated Depsang etc which it occupied in 2020.
(8)- Moreover the role of Pakistan army has already been relegated to a secondary status by PM Imran’s party (as revealed by an office bearer of PTI during TV debate https://www.hindustantimes.
(9)- The world community should ensure (i)- Plebiscite in united J&K (mandated by IoA of J&K to India) and in Balochistan (who’s IoA was taken by Pakistan by military pressure despite contrary resolution by its Parliament / Jirga) and (ii)- The ‘dual citizenship’ to about 160 million Hindus. Sikhs and Muslims (and their descendants) who were forcibly displaced from their motherland during partition (from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) which communalized Indian subcontinent, thoroughly. Moreover the world community should ensure (militarily if necessary) if Pakistan and Bangladesh fail to provide proper law & order to these Hindus and Sikhs who will go there with ‘dual citizenship’.
(10)- The world community should ensure a ‘judicial commission’ to resolve the Indo-China border dispute (keeping rights of Tibetans in view). This ’Judicial Commission’ can easily solve Indo-China border problems which are legal in nature unlike Indo-Pak border problems which are political in nature. Once the Indo-China border dispute is resolved, Pakistan will not be able to use China against India.
(11)- In the interest of making India a genuine secular country (de-facto- and not merely de-jure), The world community should ensure a petition in the Supreme Court of India (SCI) for complete justice under Article 142 of the Constitution for reviewing the final judgment in Ayodhya dispute and for legally expected restoration of Status-quo-ante of Babri-masjid (which was demolished in 1992 in the presence of the Observer of SCI) before any final judgment in Ayodhya title suit. Because otherwise it is lowering the authority of court which is criminal contempt even on the part of SCI under section 2 ( c) (i) read with section 16 of Contempt of Court Act
(12)- The world community should also ensure that India repeals (i)- All discriminatory (especially against Muslims) reservation laws which, in the name of backward castes, is giving reservations to also those castes of Hindus which even recently ruled in India and (ii)- All the laws related to cow protection, beef eating etc which are causing lynching of Muslims and even of ‘Dalits’ in India.
(13)- The world community should also ensure that all the four countries of mini-SAARC provide freedom of religion and even freedom of conversion from one religion to another because this is the best way of getting the mini-SAARC region free from communalism.
It is hoped, the world community (especially the USA, China, Russia, India, Gulf countries of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar etc having major stakes in AF-Pak) will realize the gravity of the fallout from the ending of ceasefire by TTP (which is under protection and influence of Taliban) because it has every potential of creating an explosive situation by bringing the entire Indian subcontinent to a nuclear flash point.
